Iubirea Lui, - iubirea noastra.

The Agni Parthene choir was founded on a single motivation: God praising, the Doxology, understood as a form of spiritual lucidity. The fact that man was made in God's image and likeness does not justify in any way man's temptation to imaginatively 'reconstitute' God in his own image; the glorifying of God is the act of a lucid relationship with God, the act of acknowledging and sensing His infinity, His incomprehensibility and, more than anything, His love, -
His incomprehensible love to us.
Once acknowledged God's love, once His love is allowed in us (The Revelation to John, 3:20), the human can not but love God in his turn, because God is love. Once this love 'settled' and 'dwelling' in us, once this love sensed and assumed, we find ourselves willing to sing to Him, about whom St. John Damascene said, "God is closer to our soul than we ourselves are", and willing to sing to you, whom we share His love with
in our Holly Orthodox Church.
His love, - our love.

We are grateful to all believers and priests who, by inviting us and being our hosts in their parishes, gave us the joy of sharing with them the most important moments of the year, the joy of praising God together.
Corul Agni Parthene a fost fondat in septembrie 2003
Repertoriul corului este, in cea mai mare parte, rezultatul unor cercetari atit in domeniul muzicii bizantine si al limbajului muzical aferent, cit si in cel al limbii arhaice ( in cazul pieselor cintate in greaca veche - bizantina liturgica ) proprii culturii bizantine si bisericii ortodoxe originare.
Ideea fondarii corului si conceptul proiectului cultural-ortodox Agni Parthene apartine lui Nicolae ( Nedi ) Gavriliu,
artist vizual, actualmente student al Universitatii Teologice
'St. Stephan', New Jersey.
The Agni Parthene choir was founded in September 2003
by a group of young Orthodox intellectuals, as a part of a doxological project, communicating Orthodoxy and the Byzantin culture to the multicultural NorthAmerican environment, in ( and from ) a brethrenal-panorthodox perspective.
The choir's repertory is, primarily, the result of our research in the field of Byzantin music and the afferent musical language, as well as in the one of the archaic language ( the Byzantin Ancient Greek ) specific to Byzantin culture and the original Orthodox Church.
The idea and the concept of the Agni Parthene cultural-Orthodox project belongs to Nicolae ( Nedi ) Gavriliu, visual artist, presently student at the 'St. Stephens' Theological University, New Jersey.
